Michael DalSanto for Judge
Candidate for Licking County Probate-Juvenile Court Judge

Today I got my full five-year teaching license from the State Board of Education.
Five years ago, I put my law license on inactive status because I felt like I wasn't making much of a difference. I didn't know what the next move was, so I started day-to-day subbing at Southwest Licking Local Schools. That turned into a long-term sub position, then an Intervention Specialist role, and eventually a high school government teacher.
Along the way: 5 licensure tests, three sets of pedagogy coursework, and two years of evaluations through the Resident Educator program.
Seeing that license in my inbox made me think about everyone who helped me get here: my mentors (official and unofficial), my wife Julie Manning, my students, and all of their parents who trust me with their kids every single day.
The job isn't without its difficulties, but I don't wake up anymore wondering if I'm making a difference. Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.

Here's a sneak peek at some of our literature! We finalized these today and I sent them to the printer about 15 minutes ago.
Thanks to Veronica Jane for the incredible design work: it's good to be friends with the art teacher!

250 years ago, a brave group of people dared to create a place where a king couldn't take away basic freedoms. Since then, countless Americans have done their part to pass on those founding ideals, and I'm incredibly grateful to every person in that chain who made this 250th anniversary possible.
Here's the thing, though: none of it lasts without us. Right here, right now, we have to do our part to keep our improbable experiment in democracy going. That's what my campaign is about: doing my small part to keep this country the special place that it is.
Happy 250th America. Here's to 250 more.

The whole family came out for the Johnstown Fireman's Festival parade … and they brought scooters!
Candy, a chase from my very fast nephew, and a piano lesson to close it out. Thanks Johnstown!
